Critique authors can set up a sort of "critique shop" here where they show off their skills. Anyone looking for a critique can post and ask for one in that specific volunteer's thread.

Fantasy encompasses novels which deal with the fantastical -- faraway places, mystical lands and fictional creatures. Most fantasy novels or short stories contain elements of magic and are usually focused on medieval-type values such as chivalry. Post your fantasy pieces here for review.

Science fiction differs from fantasy in that it is based in rudimentary scientific fact rather than mythology. Science fiction stories can be fantastical, of course, but they usually have some sort of reality base.

Picture an Indiana Jones movie. Action, adventure, battle scenes every five seconds. While most action and adventure novels aren't quite like Indiana Jones movies, many come pretty close.

Do you like to write stories that make readers think, that make them want to know the ending? Do you like to write about crime and punishment, blood and gore? It fits in here if you do!

Love, marriage, honeymoons, newlyweds, relationships... if this is what you love to write about, come here.

If your story is set in the past, it belongs here. Historical fiction is set in a historical background - for example, the Civil War - but is still fiction. The events are not real, but the setting and timeline are.

This is the place for poetry, for lyrics... for the words that whisper to you in the silence. Remember that poetry gets complete critiques, too, and they do still count.
